# Journal

This is a small, offline journal.

It runs entirely in your browser.

There are no accounts.

There is no sync.

There is no cloud.

Nothing leaves your machine.

You open the file.

You write.

It saves locally.

That’s it.

---

## What this is

This is a deliberately minimal writing space with memory.

Each day has one page.

You can move backward and forward in time.

Your words stay where you put them.

It is closer to a notebook than an app.

Closer to a typewriter than a system.

---

## What this is not

This is not:

- a productivity tool

- a habit tracker

- a knowledge base

- a note-taking system

- a mental health app

- a startup

There are no streaks.

There are no goals.

There are no insights.

There is nothing to optimize.

If you are looking for features, this will disappoint you.

---

## Why it exists

Most tools try to do too much.

They turn writing into something to manage.

This exists to remove friction, not add structure.

The fewer decisions you have to make,

the easier it is to write.

---

## Data & privacy

All data is stored locally in your browser.

Nothing is sent anywhere.

There is nothing to log into.

There is nothing to trust.

If you clear your browser storage, the data is gone.

That is the tradeoff.

---

## How to use it

1. Open the HTML file in a browser

2. Write

3. Close the tab

4. Come back later

There is no right way to use it.

There is no wrong way either.

---

## License / cost

This is free.

Not because it’s unfinished,

but because charging for it would make it worse.

Use it.

Modify it.

Delete it.

Forget about it.

---

## Final note

If this feels almost too simple,

that’s intentional.

If it makes you breathe a little easier,

then it’s doing its job.
